What To Expect During Your Treatment
STEP 1: IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY WHETHER YOU ARE A CANDIDATE FOR TREATMENT WE WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
Men: Blood work including a current prostate exam.
Women: Blood work and a current mammogram and pap smear exam.
NOTE: If necessary, we will provide you with the appropriate lab orders.
STEP 2: CLINICIAN’S ASSESSMENT
Based on the results of your blood work and exams, the clinician will assess your need for our treatment. If appropriate, custom compounded pellets will be prepared to address your individual hormone needs.
STEP 3: IN-OFFICE PELLET INSERTION
An appointment for a simple in-office pellet insertion will be scheduled. The insertion of pellets is a simple, relatively painless procedure done under local anesthesia. It typically takes 30-45 minutes and is performed by a clinician. Your custom compounded pellets are inserted through a very small incision just under the skin in the upper hip area.
STEP 4: UNDERGOING HORMONE THERAPY
The Pellecome Natural Hormone Pellet will then be activated by your body’s activity, releasing Bio-Identical Hormones (Hormones with the same chemical structure as in your body). You will feel the effects gradually within the span of 6 weeks.
STEP 5: YOUR SIX WEEK FOLLOW-UP
At six weeks during the course of your therapy we will contact you to survey your hormone therapy results. Based on how you feel, we will be able to tell if treatment is progressing well or may need to be adjusted. If adjustments are needed to the compound, we will schedule an appointment at your convenience.
CONTINUED THERAPY
With ideal therapy women can expect a consistent release of bio-identical hormones to last for 3-4 months, men can expect 4-5 months. We highly recommend that you contact us prior to the end of your therapy treatment cycle to ensure you receive continuous results.
